Snowman

*Once there was a snowman, snowman, snowman, once there was a snowman tall, Tall, TALL!*
Scott and the kids made a snowman after the snow that came through a couple of weeks ago. They had so much fun out there together. The snowman had rock eyes, mouth, and ears. And a big carrot nose.

THE CABIN

This weekend we went up to stay in a beautiful cabin with my parents, brother, and sister's, and their families for the weekend. They are located about a half hour from our house in the Uintas. We had a lot of fun hanging out, riding the rented four wheelers, swimming in the hot tub, watching movies, and eating good food!! This is our second time up there with the family and hope to find ourselves up there again!!!!!!

This is a shot of the cabin. Inside they are very nice. There are five big bedrooms and all but one bedroom have two beds in them, four bathrooms, two kitchens, a loft, and two living rooms. It's my idea of camping baby.
Ok, so you'll have to ignore how seriously goofy I look in these, but we had such a fun time, I had to post them anyways. This four-wheeler was a Suzuki and was awesome to drive. I had such a blast driving with Jaycee. He holds on like a pro and loves riding. Every couple of minutes I could feel him scooting around back there and leaning out his head just enough to see past me.

Drowsy driving is not safe Makaylee!!
On our first ride Scott took his fishing gear and we took a couple pit stops while he did some fishing. He caught one that was a nice size. While he was fishing Jaycee and I threw sticks and rocks in the water. We took turns watching each other try to make a big splash!

Too cute! I loved how he held on tight.

These two were so tired. Dannon and Jess getting some zzzzzz's!!

She had a blast running around like a wild girl. She also had a lot of fun playing with the cousins, as did Riley.......................

These three are the same age and in Kindergarten this year

Tristin, Bryton, and Riley

And here's the silly faces!!

I'm proud of these boys. They all got along purty darn good.

On Saturday all the families took a turn fixing a meal. Scott and I had breakfast, home-made french toast....yum!! Nick and Shannon (shown) did pizza for lunch....also yum! And Jeff and Seneca (pictured below) had dinner, soup and chicken salad sandwiches....once again, yum! Mom and dad did the rest of the meals (tacos and pancakes....of course, yum!)

Everybody enjoying some pizza:

Scott, Emery, CJ

Dad and Jaycee

Seneca and Jeff

And last but not least.......

Dad!!

Thanks for taking us to the cabin and leaving us with some fun memories.

FINALLY IT'S...Jaycee's 1st day of P.S. (pre-school)

Our Jaycee Bug has had the funnest month going to pre-school up at LUCDA. He is happy every day he gets to go, which is twice a week. He has the greatest teachers ever. They are so patient and caring with him. He is doing well at school and growing up fast. Here's some pictures of Jaycee's first day of pre-school. Here he is all ready to go.

He is the cutest thing!!
Most days he carries out McQueen to the car. He's pretty good about leaving him in his car seat until he gets done with school.
Luckily school time is during Dannon's nap time. She would get really lonely with just old mom to play with.

Little buddies.
With baby Emery.
"Baby Emery, what's wrong?"
"STOP CRYING......STOP IT"

Ka-Chow!!!! Suprise, Jaycee picked this out.
The first thing they do when they get to school is wash their hands. Then they go back to the classroom, write their names, and then get a book to read. The teachers read to them or the parents can stay and read with their children. I've tried staying a few times and reading with him. It works out really well until I try telling Dannon it's time to leave. Jaycee is such a good boy. He is happy to say bye and get a book. He's never been one to fuss about mom leaving him.

After story time they gather in a circle and they do some classroom time. Then they have snack time and play time. They also have a playground outside where they have the FUNNEST toy. It's got a buch of bike type seats with about 5 or so seperate seats and the kids can get on there and they peddle to get it to go around in a circle. Jaycee loves loves loves this and I've found him everyday playing on this when I go to pick him up. I'll need to get some pictures of it so you can see what it looks like.

Jaycee with one of his teachers. You can tell how great his teacher is just by looking at her. We are very happy that Jaycee is doing so well in school. I'm positive he will learn so much this year and excited for him to start this journey of school.

Hahahaha, it was his idea...........

We were out riding our bikes a couple days ago and Jaycee decided that this was the manly way to ride around the driveway. He brought me the helmet and I couldn't help but put it on. I also couldn't help take a picture with the idea someday these will go on his wedding video. I'm sure he will thank me for capturing this moment. Cheese!!
Right after this picture he walked over to the cement stairs coming up to the house and ate it on the first step. He got his lip real good. The gash was on the inside, so once again, he didn't have to get stitches. It looked cute for starting preschool the next day. Speaking of preschool, that post will be coming soon...........

Cowboy Day's 2010

Last Friday, the 3rd was the weekend of Cowboy Day's here in Uinta County. It was also Riley's first assembly day and the kids could dress up in Western Clothes. We didn't have a full outfit, but we put together a pretty good outfit, if you ask me!! He's got his beloved red cowboy boots, a cowboy hat, Wrangler jeans ( you got it right, I really bought Wrangler Jeans for my kid!! I should explain that Scotty likes to buy Wrangler's, the regular and not tight fit, to work in, because they last so long. It's this longness that I was looking for in a pair of pants, as we can't seem to make it more than three months without holes.) He's also got a Cabel's T on. I know plenty of Cowboy's that like to go hunting.
Saturday we went to the fair grounds for a fish catch. For this, the kids actually get in a WIDE swimming pool full of fish, take a plastic sack, and try to catch themselves a fish. Riley started to cry because the fish were going to attack his legs. The rodeo clown was there in the water and helped him catch a fish. Eventually Scott went in and rescued Riley, fish in bag, from the pool of Rainbow Trout. Jaycee also went to catch a fish. Jaycee didn't mind getting in the water, but wasn't about to try to catch a fish. A lady helper was there and tried catching the fish herself, even putting the fish in a bag, and tried to hand them to Jaycee. Nope, no fish for him. Of course a few minutes later, the boy FELL into the pool and got all wet. Then he too started to cry, and once again Scott went in and played the rescue man. We went home with only one fish, which is currently in our freezer. Maybe next year there will be no crying while catching fish.

Riley's in Kindergarten!!!!!

The day that we have been looking forward to and also one that I dreaded the closer it got finally happened. Riley started his first day of Kindergarten August 30. We couldn't believe that he was really old enough. Scott gave him a blessing the night before and for the first time Riley seemed a little nervous about the whole thing. The next morning the nerves were gone and he was pumped to go to school. He asked for pancakes, turned green, and grape juice. Then he ran to get his new school clothes on. We had some fun taking pictures and then we drove Riley down to the Elementary School.
He's grown up so much this last year. He was ready to start school.

Of course it was dad's first day of school too. Lovin' his tie!

Not a great picture, but we were all really excited for Riley's big day.

Riley picked out these shoes for school. Now he just needs to learn to tie them by himself.

You know it!!! It's SUPER MARIO BROTHERS.

fyi.......he only plays it like once every couple of months. His lack of skill at this point proves it.

To fun. The kids were excited too. I'm glade they still have each other to play with.

Group hug!!

Emery was a little sad about the whole thing....or maybe was just mad that I was not picking him up.
Dear Riley

As my oldest, this has been a new thing for me to watch you go to school. A place where I can't be with you all the time. A place where I hope you will remember the things that dad and I have been trying to teach you, not only how to write your name, but how to be a hard worker and how to be kind to everyone. I know you will do great in Kindergarten because you are a good boy. I love you!!!

Love you always, Mom

Off to the school we go. Riley wanted to ride the bus this morning. I had to keep reminding him that I was going to take him on his first day. He kept asking if he was going to ride the bus the next day.

Riley tripped on Dannon's blanket on the way out of the van and almost tumbled on out. Luckily there was no blood.

This is Riley's teacher, Mrs. Barnard. Everyone loves her and we are excited to have her as Riley's teacher. Riley thinks she is really nice!

The classes lined up and headed into the school. This is him by his friend Dylan (in the same class) and he's waving goodbye. Just like that, and then they walked around the corner. Riley kept telling me all morning that I was going to miss him, and I did. (p.s. yes....I did cry like Riley said I would)

Glad to see both the student and the teacher both smiling.

Skipping to the next afternoon, here we are waiting for Riley to get off the bus. I tell ya, I've never seen someone so excited to get on a school bus. Riley was nothing but smiles getting on that yellow thing.
Little friends. Jaycee must have thought he was getting ready to go to school.

And finally........here he is!!!

It's been a lot of fun watching Riley go to school. He is loving it!!!

Zucchini Squash Anyone!!!

We were all pretty darn excited about the first of our zucchini squash to arrive. Everybody says that the squash grows great here in Evanston and they were RIGHT. So far I have made: zucchini bread, fried zucchini, hid it in the lasagna, zucchini biscuits, toppings for the salad, and scrambled it with eggs.

This is a great picture of the boys. Aren't they a handsome bunch?
Riley was happy to take a picture with the first squash. Funny how a simple thing like zucchini squash can be make 6 people truly happy!!!

VOTING

August 19th was the Primary Elections here in Evanston. As a good citizen should, Scott and I got our butts down (literally) to the Machine Shop to vote. Little did I know, an actual picture of me from behind was being taken..........and I'm right in front. My clam to fame......and it's from the rear view!!!!

I got a REALLY good laugh out of this.
